December 7,2008 Yep. Here we are again--in the throes of winter. Had 6 inches yesterday with a bit more forecast for today. Matt and Cindy spent half of Saturday shoveling, and commutes to and from work are no fun. However, the snow is clean, and pure, and brilliant white, the temperature is a quite comfortable 20F, every branch of every tree glitters, and it's easy to see the Milky Way and a million other stars on a clear night. Somehow, that makes it all pretty nice. |

| Well, winter in Michigan is pretty but it's never a picnic! It's going to be -3F tonight with a high of about 7F tomorrow. Clear Lake and Corey Lake-heck, ALL the lakes!--are frozen and there's ice fishers out. Below is a little panorama of Clear Lake from the dock. | ||

| Temps have been in the hig 80's and 90's for the better part of two months now. We've been really busy as well, doing a lot of boating and swimming, as well as a round of parties. Graduation party at a Chinese restaurant yesterday, big 'Spring Fling' type affair last week... Whew! Lots of fun! | ||

Cindy's congregation just
finished building a new place for worship. Sits a couple of hundred
with comfortable seats and it's right in the middle of Three Rivers! No
more diving north for Bible classes! Rah! Here are a few pictures of the building. Click on the thumbnails for larger views. |

| Soooo, we went to the
Curling Contest yesterday. Turns out it's actually more like horseshoes
on ice. The temperature was near 30F, the sky was calm, and about 30
members of the Clear lake Association were there. We had a *brilliant*
time! We have wonderful neighbors, and had a lot of fun. Two pics from
the event below, showing Clear Lake from the Public Access side and
looking west. Uh, we did NOT win the competition. Oh, well; there's always next year! |

We finally did it! We bought a new house! Whew! It's a split level situated on the lake! It's our first house so we're very excited! We have approximately on and one-half acres of land, two full bedrooms and one study, two full bathrooms with Jacuzzi, Great room (living room-dining room), giant family room on the lower level, full kitchen and laundry room complete with washer-drier. |
